Thank you so much for taking that extra step in furthering your understanding
about what God's purpose is for your life and His Church here at Peace Lutheran
Church  on earth.  We are committed to being a purpose driven church.

Let me dispell the popular and secular notion of the world immediately.  It is not
about you, but the life of a Christian should be purpose driven too.

It is about God your Creator, and your Father.  It was His purpose,  His decision
that you were born, and for His purpose.

The Bible says,
"it is God who directs the lives of His creatures;  everyone's life is in
his power.
"  Meaningfulness is your life is not within, but being in harmony and
peace with Him who created you, and the purpose He has given.

Two great scriptures should be the basis for your personal ministry and the
ministry of this community of faith.

"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind....Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the prophets hang on these
two commandments."
  (Matthew 22:37-40)

"Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Name of the Father and
of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey ever
ything I have
commanded you."
 (Matthew 28:19-20)

As a result of the empowering Word of God that comes to us through the Bible,
the five purpose become clear for your life and that of the community of faith
that worships Him here.

Purpose  #1   Love the Lord with all your heart.

Purpose  #2   Love your neighbor as yourself

Purpose  #3   Go and make disciples

Purpose  #4   Baptize them

Purpose  #5   Teaching them to obey.
A Purpose Driven Life -  "For everything, absolutely everything above and below,
visible and invisible...everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him.
"
                                                                           (Colossians 1:16)

One of our biggest struggles in life is discovering that our life is far greater than our
own self-fulfillment.    When you discover your purpose you will discover true happiness.
found first in rediscovering our relationship with our loving Father.

further with us in this wonderful discovery, a journey in which we are not alone.  But let
us look at the two very basic scriptures for a purpose driven life and church, and we
would hope that you will be able to join us together in His purposes for all of us.

"Love the  Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your
mind....Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments."
   (Matthew 22:37-40)

"Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

(Matthew 28:19-20)

As Christians we can see clearly in these two Scriptures the primary tasks we are to
focus on until Christ returns.  The five purposes for our life and our community of faith
become clear.

Purpose #1   Love the Lord with all your heart.

Purpose #2   Love your neighbor as yourself.

Purpose #3   Go and make disciples.

Purpose #4   Baptize them.

Purpose #5   Teaching them to obey.

May we invite you to look further on these pages to see how you can discover the
wonderful gift of a new life in Him in numerous ways.  We invite you to come and
worship together here, and
as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and
more like him, and reflect his glory even more."
 (2 Corinthians 3:18)

May you discover that peace that passes all understanding.
